Love yourself but have humility. Without humility you will be seen as arrogant not confident.
Making the decision to become a highly effective leader is not about you, but it does start with you. When you grow into a highly effective leader, your influence will multiply through others and will be seen by others.
1. Purpose
A highly effective leader’s purpose is to help develop other leaders into highly effective leaders so that, they can help develop leaders into highly effective leaders.
So, you will be so important to others because of the impact you will have on their lives, and then the impact that they will have on other people’s lives through your influence.
Highly effective leadership is far bigger than one person. When you become a highly effective leader, your own life is not just about you anymore.

Before you started reading this article, you may not have seen the vision that you can now see for yourself and others.
But as you reflect on what you have learned through reading this and my other articles, you should be able to see that vision and the roadmap on how you are going to implement that vision and your own transformation.
It is my recommendation that you read my articles again with your vision and transformational roadmap in your mind.
Who you are will determine how far you take your vision, how fast you go to strive towards your vision and how you work on your own transformation. It is the decisions you make along the way that determine your vision’s distance and speed.
How far you travel down your transformational road is all up to you. This all starts with what you value in your life and ends with the legacy you want to leave.
2. Character
It is your character that people see of you on the outside every day and that comes from what you value on the inside. Our character is built up how we feel, how we act and how we think and the way to develop our character is to be congruent in all three.
When we are congruent in how we feel, act and think we can make our best and righteous decisions which will be evidenced by the principles we live by.
Lots of people try to disguise their character when they feel angry or jealous inside, but they act as if they are happy or supportive. But after a while the truth will come out because their true character will be revealed.
I have worked with managers in the past who would think one thing, feel something different, say something even different, and act in a completely different way. They were not highly effective leaders because they were not congruent in what they thought, felt, said or did.
What a highly effective leader thinks, is exactly the same in how they feel, is exactly the same in what they say, and is exactly the same in the action they take.
3. Congruence
Highly effective leaders talk the talk but more importantly they walk the walk. Is this something you are willing to do? Are you willing to be congruent in what you think, feel, say and do? You can learn more on this topic in my book, “A Limitless Mindset – How a highly effective leader thinks.”
The more you are congruent with what you think, feel, say and do, the more trust you will build with your people as you are transforming into a highly effective leader.
You must work on yourself every day to align what you say, the action you take, what you value, and what you believe with the laws and principles that you are learning.
If you have harmony between the laws and principles, you are learning and how you live then this will also build trust with your people. Your mind and your heart need to be congruent with what you say and what you do also.
4. Trust
To build trust with others, we firstly need to develop the character we have within ourselves. Character is not something you are born with and naturally express, we have to work on it and develop it to be our best selves.
The thoughts we have, the decisions we make and the courage we build all stem from our character. When we work on ourselves and develop our character every day, we can build trust with our people because it is our character that they see.
When you develop your character every day, strive towards your full potential, you are on the path to becoming a highly effective leader. The relationships you build will be the key to your success, and with strong relationships you can build trust and increase your influence with your people.
Your character will either push you towards your goal and put you on the highly effective leadership path, or it will pull you back and take you away from your goal and set you on the wrong path.
It doesn’t matter where you are in your life right now, you have the ability to improve and develop your character, as do all of us.
Every article I have ever written is filled with principles that will help you to develop your character to the fullest. They will help you to be your best self for your people and for yourself.
In the past when you haven’t achieved exactly what you wanted to achieve, the most probable cause will down to your character because you hadn’t developed it to be your best. A lot of people throughout the world don’t understand what character is or means.

Character is the having the ability to be ready and match what life throws at us every day. With character comes integrity, and that is building the courage to be ready and match what life throws at us every day.
As you develop your character there are going to be times when you can’t always be your best, every single person in the world has character flaws. The most successful people in the world have character flaws. This is what makes every one of us human and having character flaws doesn’t make you any worse.
The vision you have for yourself and for your people, who will determine if this becomes your legacy? It will be the people who received the value that you shared with them. It will be the people who followed you because they wanted to, not because they had to.
It will be the people who felt your influence and then took on your influence as their own. This will all be defined by your character and what you leave with others.
To make a difference in the world and in the lives of others, you need to do normal everyday things in an abnormal way every day.
